Cushman & Wakefield Korea Signs MOU with VISUWORKS for "Wellness Stay" Real Estate Partnership
Seeking to Identify Accommodations Exclusively for International Patients in the Heart of the Gangnam Medical Cluster...
Supporting a one-stop care model that spans from treatment to post-treatment care
Cushman & Wakefield Korea Investment Advisory, the investment advisory subsidiary of global real estate consulting firm Cushman & Wakefield Korea, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for real estate business cooperation with VISUWORKS, a company specializing in Medical Services Organizations (MSO). The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Cushman & Wakefield Korea headquarters in Gwanghwamun, Seoul.
VISUWORKS is a medical operations services company that has grown out of the B&Bit Eye Clinic in Gangnam. To meet the rapidly increasing demand from international patients, the company is currently expanding its “Wellness Stay” business, which combines medical care with accommodation. This agreement was established to explore new business opportunities by combining VISUWORKS’ medical service capabilities—as the company expands into the real estate sector—with Cushman & Wakefield Korea’s expertise in real estate investment, leasing, development, and financing advisory services.
The “Wellness Stay” program promoted by VISUWORKS goes beyond simply providing lodging; its goal is to ensure that international patients who have completed their procedures and medical treatments can receive consistent care—including dietary management and wellness support—linked to medical services even after leaving the hospital. VISUWORKS explains that this is a customer management model designed to provide each patient with more stable and successful treatment outcomes by establishing a one-stop care system that spans medical treatment, procedures, and post-treatment care.
Under this agreement, Cushman & Wakefield Korea Investment Advisory plans to provide comprehensive advisory services—starting with sourcing real estate properties suitable for VISUWORKS’ wellness stay pilot project, and extending to operator matching, investment advisory, and financing.
The two companies intend to first establish a basic framework for cooperation through this MOU and then sequentially negotiate the specific scope and terms of the investment advisory agreement and financing advisory services once specific properties are identified.
Sorim Jie, Director of Cushman & Wakefield Korea’s Investment Advisory Division, stated, “As demand for medical tourism grows, the need for wellness stay facilities centered around the Gangnam medical cluster is rapidly increasing.” She added, “We expect that combining VISUWORKS’ accumulated expertise in medical operations with our real estate advisory capabilities will enable us to introduce a new type of lodging model for international patients to the market.”
Kim Jeong-soo, Director of Bijou Works, stated, “Wellness Stay is not merely a lodging service for international patients; it is a stay service that seamlessly integrates medical and wellness experiences—from medical consultations to surgeries and procedures, through recovery and post-treatment care.” He added, "Through our collaboration with Cushman & Wakefield Korea, we expect to identify suitable properties and steadily expand a reliable, one-stop service for patients that spans from medical treatment to post-treatment care," he added.
Meanwhile, Cushman & Wakefield Korea Investment Advisory, which was officially registered with the Financial Supervisory Service in early 2025, is Cushman & Wakefield’s specialized investment advisory subsidiary. It provides expert investment advisory services across the entire real estate spectrum, including real estate financial advisory, fund and REIT structuring, equity and debt financing, co-investor matching, and development project strategy and feasibility studies. Sorim Jie, drawing on her extensive experience across various industries—including investment firms, construction companies, and asset management firms—is strengthening the firm’s ability to provide tailored advisory services across the entire commercial real estate lifecycle by combining Cushman & Wakefield’s global network with expertise in the domestic capital markets.
