UKG Australia and Cushman & Wakefield
Delivering a Modern Workplace Fit-Out
01
Client Objective
UKG operates within a fast-moving technology environment and provides frontline workforce solutions used by 80,000 organizations in more than 150 countries. With a commitment to growth in Australia, an existing Sydney office no longer reflected the functional and aesthetic standards of a modern, high-performing workplace. The client needed a substantial transformation, from reconfigured workstation layouts and new office spaces to a redesigned entrance lobby, a feature green wall, and updated client signage.
02
The Challenge
Adding to the complexity of the project, UKG was working towards a fixed relocation timeline linked to the expiry of its previous lease. To help navigate the program and ensure a smooth transition, UKG sought an experienced partner to coordinate the design, procurement, and construction process, bringing together multiple stakeholders and keeping the project moving efficiently from concept to completion.
03
The Solution
Cushman & Wakefield took responsibility for design development, consultant procurement, and head contractor engagement, creating a single point of accountability across every workstream. A structured program management approach was put in place from day one, with a clear roadmap for timeline, budget, and regulatory compliance. Early, ongoing engagement with landlord-nominated consultants, paired with proactive oversight of the head contractor, kept long-lead items on track and allowed additional scope requested by UKG to be absorbed without putting delivery certainty at risk.
Our Project & Development Services team delivered a comprehensive scope of works across the tenancy, reconfiguring workstation layouts to support a more efficient, collaborative work environment, building new private offices, and creating a dedicated wellness room in support of UKG's employee wellbeing focus. The entrance experience was reimagined through a striking green wall and refreshed corporate signage, giving the space a confident first impression aligned with UKG's brand. Updates to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic services were carefully coordinated to maintain base building compliance and operational continuity throughout. Beyond core construction, the team also managed the integration of security systems, sound masking, and IT connectivity, delivering a technologically enabled workplace fit for a leading workforce management solutions provider.

The Results
UKG Australia's new Sydney office was delivered on time and within budget, a result achieved against a demanding program driven by an imminent lease-expiry deadline. Long-lead procurement items were secured within the constrained timeframe, and additional client-initiated scope was absorbed without disrupting delivery certainty. Early and continuous engagement with landlord-nominated consultants proved instrumental in maintaining momentum and compliance throughout the program. The result reinforced a trusted, long-term client relationship where UKG returned to Cushman & Wakefield following a successful earlier engagement in Melbourne, and reflects the value of a single, accountable delivery partner in navigating complex projects with precision.
Testimonial
"We were up against a hard deadline, so there was very little room for error. Cushman & Wakefield took full ownership of the process from design through to handover and kept us informed every step of the way. Even when we added extra requirements along the way, the team absorbed the changes without missing a beat. The result is a space our people are genuinely proud to work in, and it's exactly why we came back to Cushman & Wakefield after our Melbourne project."
